William Raymond "Bill" Griffiths

William R. Griffiths, 88, of Minerva, formerly of Massillon, passed away gently, with his family gathered at his side, late Saturday evening, February 3, 2024.  Born December 6, 1935, at the family home in Massillon, Bill attended Washington High School, and his honorable service in the USMC had always been a source of deep and quiet pride.  Bill earned his living as a machinist, and a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.  He invested more than thirty years of his working life in dedicated service at the Canton plant of the former Dyneer Corporation, and another fifteen years with Heinemann Saw Company, in Canton, before retiring.

A man of quiet faith, Bill was a devoted husband and a loving and supportive dad and grandpa.  He loved spending several weeks each summer fishing with the family at Rice Lake in Ontario, Canada; loved playing and watching baseball, especially the Guardians, and more recently enjoyed bowling and golf.

Predeceased by his parents, Morley and Ruth (Hose) Griffiths; his wife, Judy (Ashbridge) Griffiths; twin grandchildren, Taylor and Nathan Griffiths; his brother, Gerald Griffiths and a half-sister, Mary Henley; Bill is survived by his daughter, Lori (Chris) Wheeler, of Minerva, with whom he had resided, and son Tim (Kristina) Griffiths, of Jackson Township.  Also surviving are his three grandsons, Jacob, Ryan, and Connor Griffiths; and several nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to mark Bill’s passing and celebrate his life with a ceremony in the mausoleum chapel of Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8th, 2024.  Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon has been entrusted with arrangements.  Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added here to his on-line guestbook.
