Wanda L. Randles-Harrold, 89, formerly of Brewster, more recently of Massillon, passed away peacefully, while attended by family, early Monday morning, July 11, 2022. Born April 7, 1933, in Knapp, West Virginia, a daughter to the late Ernest L. and Wanda (Boone) Clowser, Wanda had been an area resident most of her adult life. She worked as an LPN for the former Massillon State Psychiatric Hospital and area nursing homes until her retirement in 2001, following 50 years of caring and compassionate service. A faithful member of Massillon Baptist Temple, Wanda was a true matriarch, actively devoted to her family and her faith community, placing them at the center of her life. Strong-willed and intrepid, she faced life’s challenges head-on. She loved fully and unconditionally and with her spirit of self-sacrifice, gladly placed the needs of others ahead of her own. She lived the words written in James 1:22 – “But be ye therefore doers of the word, not hearers only…”
In her leisure time Wanda traveled the world. But the hills of West Virginia always held a special place in her heart, and she needed to be there every so often. She also took an interest in photography, especially when generations of the family got together.
Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leroy Dale Harrold; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra (Clowser) and John Keaton, and brother-in-law, Raymond Frazier; Wanda is survived by her daughter, Darlene M. (Robert) Oney, of Malvern, Ohio; and step-son, Bryan (Lori) Harrold, of Louisville, Ohio; grandchildren, Trent (Corine) Britton and Stacey (Joseph) Urbas, all of Massillon; grandchildren, Kayla and Tyler Britton and Emilee Urbas, Brianne (Chris) Steffen, Taylor (Dylan) Tucker and Drew (Ashley) Elliott; and five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; her sister, Mrs. Wilma Jean (Clowser) Frazier, and a nephew, Mike (Joy) Cundiff, all of Vienna, West Virginia; as well as a great-niece and two great-nephews. .
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon, Ohio. Dr. C.E. Thayer, pastor of Massillon Baptist Temple will officiate, and burial will follow at Granville Union Cemetery in Strasburg, Ohio.
