Twila Jean Shetler, 94, of Navarre, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, early Monday morning, September 8, 2025. Born in Massillon, September 21, 1930, a daughter to the late Walter and Bernice (Jones) Shetler, Twila graduated from the former Navarre High School where she was a member of the school band and valedictorian of the Class of 1948. Twila retired from the Eaton Manufacturing Corporation after many years of service. She had been a life resident of Navarre and a lifelong member of Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church. Very active in the church, she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for more than sixty years. She was also a former choir director and church trustee, volunteered with vacation bible school, volunteered with Ohio Reads, and visited many shut-ins in her faith community along with many other acts of service.
Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marion (Gayle) Shetler and Dale (Carole) Shetler, and nephew, Ronald Shetler; Twila will be missed by many, especially by her nieces, Rebecca (Tome) Sekulovski, Susan DiNarda, and Terri (Jack) Shipp. She will also be sadly missed by her great-nieces, Alexandra (Andy) Sekulovski-Capers, Lindsay (Kyle) Finnerty, and Alyssa Sekulovski. Twila dearly loved her family and friends and leaves behind many cherished memories.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2025, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Pastor Carl Kandel will officiate, and burial will follow at Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre.
