Timothy M. Cope, 72, of Dalton, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home and with his family at his side, late Sunday evening, September 26, 2021. Born in Canton, June 26, 1949, a son to the late Frank and Faye (Johnson) Cope, Tim graduated from Canton McKinley High School with the Class of 1967. An honorably discharged veteran of the US Air Force, he served in Vietnam and earned the rank of sergeant. Tim went on to retire from Timken Steel where he had worked as a forklift operator.
A devoted husband, dad and grandpa, Tim loved his family very much. His two grandchildren, Clara and Jack Cooke, were his absolute pride and joy! In his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking; liked to fish, and was a patient and ever-hopeful fan of the Cleveland Indians.
Predeceased by his parents; and his brothers, Charles and Ronald; Tim is survived by his wife, Phyllis A. (Young) Cope, of the home; their daughter, Christina A. (Jacob) Cooke, of Brewster, and the grandchildren.
Pastor Jon George of Dueber United Methodist Church will join the family for a private funeral service and burial. Arrangements are entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre.
