Terry L. Brace, 76, formerly of Massillon, most recently of Liberty Township, Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening, December 27, 2023. Born October 25, 1947, in Canova, South Dakota, a son to the late Leland and Ann (Durant) Brace, Terry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps following his graduation from high school. He served honorably and with distinction in Vietnam with the Second Marine Division. A devoted husband and a loving and supportive dad and grandpa, Terry placed his family and faith at the center of his life. He attended Bridgewater Church in Fairfield Township. He earned a living as a licensed boiler operator and in maintenance operations with the former Massillon Community Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, and the Timken Company Bearing Division. The go-to guy when anything needed fixing, Terry was an encourager who not only built with his hands, but built people with his heart and words. Finding awe and thankfulness in the simple things around him, he was known for his kindness, love for life and desire to get the laugh. In his leisure time, he enjoyed Golf, watching wrestling and football with his son, and an occasional game of catch.
Predeceased by his parents; his twin sister, Sherry, who died in infancy; and his first wife, Brenda Kay (Power) Brace; Terry is survived by his wife Natura (Lollathin) Brace, of the home; his son, Benjamin A. (Tammy) Brace, of Massillon, and grandchildren, Kayla, Collin, and Gabrielle Brace. Also surviving are his step-children, Melissa (Derek) Moran, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, Lori (John) Cresap, of Hamilton, Ohio, Eric (Kelly) Wright, of Dalton, Ohio, and Leslie (Jacob) Preston, of Liberty Twp. Ohio, and his sister, Patricia (Sonny) Salsbury, and brother, Chris (Heather) Brace. A Celebration of life will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. The family will receive condolences one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Military honors will close the service and a private burial will follow.
