Shirley Ann (Weisend) Evrit has broken free of the pain of this world and gone home to be with the Lord.
She was born into this world on July 16, 1937, in Salem West Virginia. She graduated from Washington High School in 1955, where she played the clarinet in the Massillon Tiger Swing Band. She had many jobs over the course of her life, and she retired from the Timken Company in Canton, Ohio. She loved to sew, crochet, and knit. Everyone she knew has at least one thing that she made with her own two hands. She was an avid reader, bowler, bird watcher, and loved going to Bingo with George and Ed. She was an amazing baker, and several years ago, started a tradition of gathering all her children and grandchildren together to make Christmas Cookies together. Shirley loved bells of all shapes and sizes. She had an extensive collection that she displayed in hutches and on shelves built with love by her husband and son.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard E. and Edith V. (Davis) Weisend, and her daughter, Kathi Lynn (Beall) Weber. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, George W. Evrit. Also left to mourn are her brother, Edwin L. (Sherry) Weisend, her sons, Gerald (Denise) Beall, Jr., Samuel (Lisa) Beall, David (Jill) Beall, and daughter Amy (Lance) Mingo, son in law, William Weber, and her Aunt Juanita who was also her best friend. She will be remembered by her thirteen grandchildren, Gerald Beall III, Kristina (Brian) Weber-Perkins, Jason Jacobs, Samuel (Amy) Beall, Heather (Todd) Bowen, Justin (Candace) Beall, Angel (Curtis) Figgins, Joshua (Jillian) Beall, Stevi (Garon Thomas) Weber, Nick Wucinich, Taylor (Jack) Beall, Joshua Mingo, Haley (Avery) Jolly. She also had 18 great grandchildren,who will get to hear so many great stories, and many nieces and nephews that she treasured.
Friends and family can visit on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon, Ohio, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Cremation has taken place in keeping with Shirley's wishes, and a private burial will follow at a later date. You are welcome to add your memories and condolences to her on-line guestbook.
