Ruby Ann (Crutchfield) Moore-Rogers

Ruby A. Moore-Rogers, our dearly beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, sister and aunt, following a long and purposeful life, passed away peacefully, in the company of her children, Tuesday evening, October 18, 2022, at the age of 101.  Born September 12, 1921, in Burnsville, West Virginia, a daughter to the late George and Mary (Harris) Crutchfield, Ruby enjoyed good physical and mental health, a robust lifestyle, and an active social life throughout her adulthood.  Widowed at an early age, she worked at the former Massillon Psychiatric Hospital for 17 years before retiring at age 65.  Until just recently, she continued to keep her own house and continued to drive.  An avid bowler, she kept active in league play as often as three or four times a week!  She enjoyed cards, visits and phone calls from her large family and close friends and never missed a holiday or a birthday or an occasion to spoil and celebrate her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  When warm weather allowed, she greeted friends and neighbors from the porch of her home.    

Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Arden D. Moore; and her brother, Stanton Crutchfield; two great-grandchildren, and sons-in-law, Clifford Briggs and Marlin Gordon; Ruby is survived by her children, Joyce Briggs and Patsy Gordon, both of Navarre, Arden “Junior” (Tanya) Moore, of Bolivar, and Thomas Moore (and Cindi Moore), of New Philadelphia.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Louise Knight, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio.

Family and friends will join with Pastor Tim Mishler at Calvary Baptist Church in Massillon at noon on Friday, October 21, 2022, to celebrate Ruby’s remarkable life.  The family will receive condolences in the  church for one hour before the services, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  A private burial will follow at East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre.  The family has suggested memorial contributions in Ruby's name to advance the mission and ministry of Calvary Baptist Church of Moffit Heights, 11616 Sinclair Street SW, Massilllon, Ohio  44647.
