Rosemarie Angott

Rosemarie Angott, 85, of Massillon, passed away gently on Tuesday evening, February 10, 2026.

Born May 8, 1940, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Rosemarie was the daughter of the late Sammy and Evelyn (Reese) Angott. She was a graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and Stark Technical College. Prior to her retirement, she served as a corrections officer for the State of Ohio.

A devoted member of St. Mary’s Church, Rosemarie remained active in parish life until declining health and mobility challenges made participation more difficult. Throughout her life, her faith was her strength and steady foundation.

Growing up as the daughter of a boxing legend, Rosemarie was born just as her father’s run as a three-time World Lightweight Boxing Champion was beginning. While her home buzzed with activity—ringing phones and flashing cameras—she learned patience, humility, generosity, the value of hard work, and the importance of staying grounded in what truly mattered. Faith and family were the center of her life. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild brought her immeasurable joy, and her legacy of love will continue through them. Rosemarie will also be fondly remembered for her lifelong love of sweets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Theresa Patterson, and her brother and sister-in-law, Sammy Jr. and Diane Angott.

Rosemarie is survived by her children, Tylene Falkner (fiancé, Marc Chismar) and Jeffery (Sarah) Falkner, all of Canton; her beloved grandchildren, Reid Hill and Giavanna Rose; her special niece, Tamie Driskell; her close friend, Troy Esminger; along with many nieces and nephews and her cherished cat, Tori.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will announce a celebration of Rosemarie’s life at a later date.
