Roger C. Rentz, 69, of Massillon, passed away late Wednesday evening, December 9, 2020. Born November 7, 1951, in Middlebranch, Ohio, a son to the late Ivan and Verna (Coblentz) Rentz, Roger graduated from the former Glenwood High School with the Class of 1969. He served honorably in the US Army and earned his living as a mechanic with several local firms, most notably the former Wynn’s RV Center in North Canton. A loving husband and a devoted dad, uncle and brother, Roger was in fact a gifted mechanic who loved to tinker and experiment. He had a great imagination and a knack for keeping busy; always on the lookout for some new project to occupy his mind and his energy. He loved the outdoors and the chance to be out in the open, to hike or fish, maybe get in some hunting.
He got a kick out of social media and the internet and was a regular e-bay browser. Then there were times when he just needed to enjoy some peace and quiet, the comfort of his family and his favorite chair.
Preceded in death by his mom and dad; and sisters, Lois and Emma “Tiny;” Roger is survived by his wife, Laurie A. (Skelly) Rentz, of the home; his sons, Roger Charles Rentz, Jr., of Virginia, George Ivan Rentz and Charles Allen Rentz, both at home; his sisters, Diane, Debbie and Kathy and brothers, Gilbert, George and Junior.
Cremation has taken place. No services are planned. The family will announce a future date when they’ll gather to celebrate Roger’s life in a way everyone can enjoy! Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to our on-line guestbook at, www.atkinsonfeucht.com.
