Richard W. “Dickie” Guleff, 89, of Massillon, passed away peacefully, but very unexpectedly, while relaxing at his home in his favorite chair, this past Friday morning, June 18, 2021. Born in Massillon, March 7, 1932, a son to the late Nickolas and Lucille (Baus) Guleff, Dick graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1950. He remained a genuine and sincere supporter of all things Massillon – especially Tiger football, throughout his entire life. A loving husband and a devoted dad, he supported his family as a repair technician with the former Ohio Bell Telephone Co., retiring after more than forty years of dedicated service. He had also worked at Studer’s; as an umpire and referee for Massillon Parks and Recreation and with Skipco Auto Auction. He loved the Ohio sports teams and followed the Tigers and the Buckeyes through thick and thin. Dick placed his family and his faith at the center of his life. The loss of his beloved wife, Lois, and each of their children broke his heart – but never his spirit. He never met a stranger – only friends who hadn’t heard about what a wonderful place Massillon was and Ohio was and how great the teams looked this year and how fantastic the band sounded this year and… well, you know the rest! And that was Dick.
Predeceased by his dear wife, Lois Ann (Heisser) Guleff, and their children, Richard W. “Rick” Guleff, Jr., Dr. Rand E. Guleff and Gwynne A. Guleff-Tinkler, as well as his eight siblings; Dick is survived by his grandson Ivan S. Guleff; daughter-in-law Darla Rider-Guleff; son-in-law, Larry Tinkler; several nieces and nephews and many treasured friends.
There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in the mausoleum chapel of Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, with burial to follow. Rev.
