Paul Demmer Obituary

 It is with great sadness that the Demmer family announces the passing of Paul Alan Demmer, of Massillon, this past Monday, February 22, 2021.  Paul fought a long battle against Parkinson’s Disease but is now resting peacefully with the Lord.  He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 46 years, Pamela; as well as his children, Ken (Megan), Matt (Danielle) and Becky (Jack) Jasper; grandchildren, Alannah, Caden and Henry; and his siblings, Jeanne (Howard) Hartzog, Diane (Mark) Boslett and Wayne (Angie).  Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert “Skip and Julia Demmer, and his sister, Kathryn “Katie.”
Born March 28, 1950, Paul was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School and a member of the Tiger “Swing” Band.  He is also a 1972 graduate of Oberlin College.  After college her returned home to help run the family business, Demmer Hardware, for nearly 40 years.  He devoted much of his free time to his church and The Boy Scouts of America.  Paul was a longtime member of the former Wesley United Methodist Church and most recently, a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
He comes from a long line of Cookie Monsters!  Paul had many passions which included, building bat houses, wood carving, reading, camping with the scouts, telling amazing stories and teaching his kids how to use tools.  Paul was a memorable man to all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
The family plans to have a memorial service at a later date.  If you wish, the family has suggested memorial contributions to either of these organizations:  Habitat for Humanity, The Boy Scouts of America or The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
