Melissa I. Yoder, 55, of Massillon, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home and with her family at her side, on Friday morning, November 1, 2024. Her passing followed a lengthy illness. Born in Canton, November 28, 1968, a daughter to the late Ralph and Ruth (Andreotti)Wade, Melissa had been an area resident her entire life. She attended Timken Vocational High School and prior to the onset of her illness, worked as an office administrator with Aultman Hospital.
A devoted wife and a loving and supportive mom and “mimi,” Melissa placed her husband and family at the center of her life. She was the light and life of the family. Energetic and outgoing, her home was a place of warmth and welcome for people and pets, music, and laughter. While her health allowed, she attended St. Paul United Church of Christ in Navarre, and looking to the needs of her home and growing family was her favorite pastime. She also enjoyed listening to country music, walking, biking, and hiking, spoiling her grandchildren, and playing with her dogs.
Melissa is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory and the life they made together are her husband Robert C. Yoder, of the home, her daughters, Ashley (Scott) Willig, of West Salem, Ohio, and Amber (Tad) McGraw, of Brewster, and step-daughter, Devinne Yoder, of Canton; grandchildren, Addalyn, Carter, Colton, Kylie and Tucker Willig, and Riley and Trenton McGraw; her sisters, Wanda Wade Gaut and Micha Wade, and brother, Rocky Wade.
All services will be private. Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon has been entrusted with arrangements. Your memories and condolences are always welcome and can be added here to Melissa’s on-line guestbook.
