Marjean F. Shreffler, 79, passed away January 13, 2018, and took up her final residence in heaven. Born January 10, 1939, in Strasburg, Ohio, a daughter to the late Joseph and Inez (Mayforth) Haas, the family moved to Navarre in 1952 and Marjean graduated from Massillon Washington High School with the Class of 1956. She worked for Nickles Bakery in Navarre for 40 years before retiring in 1996 as a sales clerk/store manager. Throughout her entire life she was a very active member of Justus United Methodist Church where she served as Youth Fellowship Leader and nursery attendant for several years. Starting at a very young age, Marjean loved taking pictures and was seldom seen without a camera close at hand. Later in life she loved to travel with friends and taking many bus trips.
Marjean was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Robert and Marion and her devoted husband, Richard G. Shreffler – they would have been married 60 years this past December. She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Janet), Gary and Greg (Julia) Shreffler; her grandchildren, Malissa, Ashley and Kole; great-grandson Zevin; and a brother, Warren Haas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre. Family and friends may call Thursday evening, January 18, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Friday morning, from 10-11:00, in the funeral home. Rev. Brian Allen will officiate and burial will follow in Union Lawn Cemetery. The family has suggested memorial contributions made in care of Justus United Methodist Church.
