Marie Cocklin Obituary

Marie E. Cocklin, 92, of Massillon, beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 1, 2021.  Born in Hartville, Ohio, July 2, 1928, a daughter to the late Henry and Esther (Bair) Taylor, Marie graduated from the former Hartville High School with the Class of 1946.  An honest and dedicated worker, she was employed by the Sugardale Credit Union and retired in 2008, following thirty years of service.  A faithful member of Grace Brethren Church of Middlebranch, Marie enjoyed doing for others and unselfishly offered her time and talent in any way she could – in particular, preparing and delivering meals to her homebound churchmates.  She loved playing euchre; loved to read, and always enjoyed the Canton Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra, especially their summer concerts under the stars at Blossom.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Cocklin; brother Henry “Hank” Taylor, Jr.; nephew, Jeff Taylor and great-niece, Leslie Zolbe; Marie is survived by her sister, Ruth (William) Taylor Reid, of Massillon; sister-in-law, Mrs. Agnes Taylor, of Georgetown, Texas; nephews, Michael (Diana) Reid, Patrick Reid and Scott Taylor; nieces, Kathleen (Matthew) Taylor Zolbe, Coleen (Tom) Reid Gehring and Kathleen (Todd) Reid DeFine.  Many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Warstler Cemetery in North Canton at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021.  Rev. Tom Embaugh will officiate.  There are no calling hours.  The family has requested no additional flowers but please consider instead a donation in Marie’s memory to either Grace Brethren Church of Middlebranch or Traditions Health Hospice Care.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to our on-line guestbook at www.atkinsonfeucht.com.
