Lorna Mae (Sooy) Patt, 93, of Massillon, left this world to be with God, late Saturday evening, December 30, 2023. Born January 31, 1930, in Wellington, Ohio, Lorna was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a wonderful homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. She had worked as a dental office manager and dental assistant for forty-five years and had served as president of the Stark County Dental Wives Auxiliary, and as president of the Dental Assistant Association. A member of Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon since 1962, Lorna served as both an Elder and a Deacon. She was a long-time member of the Massillon Woman’s Club and enjoyed the friendship shared among its members.
Preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Thalia Sooy; her daughter, Lisa Terry Davison, and grandsons, Brian Czahor and Tad Maxwell; siblings, Arlene (Maurice) Lampe, Wilma (Russell) Perry, Russell (Laura) Sooy, Ireta (Joseph) Cusumano, and Arthur (Mary E.) Sooy; Lorna is survived by her loving children, Karen (Robert) Gales, of Clifton, Virginia, Robert Terry, of Massillon, Vern (Sussy) Terry, of Houston, Texas and Rebecca (Michael LeBrun) Terry, of Hollis, New Hampshire. She also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
Following cremation, family and friends will gather to honor Lorna in a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Central Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dr. Juliann Joy will officiate, and a private burial will follow. The family will receive condolences one hour prior to the service, from 10-11:00 a.m. in the church.
