Leonard S. “Bud” Bleininger, 85, formerly of Navarre, more recently of Prescott, Arizona, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home and with his wife at his side, on Sunday morning, January 2, 2022. Born in Navarre, April 24, 1936, a son to the late Gusta S. and Frannie E. (Sullivan) Bleininger, Bud graduated from the former Navarre High School with the Class of 1954. He received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio Northern University in 1960. He served honorably in the Ohio Army National Guard and his professional career was spent with several national firms in what was then the newly evolving computer industry. The work often required relocation, including stops in Michigan and California, but ties to the area remained strong and he and his wife, Jean, returned to visit often. Bud was a licensed private pilot and while flying was his favorite hobby and a great source of relaxation and comradery, it also had a very practical side. Holding instrument and seaplane ratings and commercial pilot certification, he applied his expertise in service to Yavapai County (AZ) Search & Rescue Operations. His professional and social memberships included ASME, AOPA, and the International Comanche Society.
Preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Helen, Wilma, Ruby Ann and Clifford; Bud is survived by his dear wife, Jean Ann (Mutchmore) Bleininger, and several treasured nieces, nephews and friends living in this area.
Local arrangements including private burial at Union Lawn Cemetery have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre. A more fitting celebration of Bud’s life is being planned for when the weather is more moderate and Covid concerns have eased. Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to our on-line guestbook at www.atkinsonfeucht.com.
