Larry Lee Brown, 85, of Navarre, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, January 13, 2022. Born in Massillon, December 31, 1936, a son to the late Harold and Verna Brown, Larry graduated from Strasburg High School with the Class of 1954. While in high school he played basketball and played cornet in the marching band. After high school he worked for Evans Feed Mill in Navarre before starting at Timken Steel, retiring as a foreman following 39 years of service. He was a member of the Stark Beagle Club, the GRA and a life member of the NRA. He served as a volunteer fire fighter with the Navarre Fire Department from 1957-59 and was also an active member of Woodlawn Church.
He married his wife of 65 years, the former Dorothy M. Warstler, on October 19, 1957. Together they had four children, Debra (Steve) Adams, Gary (Becky) Brown, Ed Brown and David (Michelle) Brown. There are four grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Rachel Adams, Daniel Adams, and Dustin King, and five great-grandchildren.
He enjoyed his retirement; traveling to Gatlinburg and many other placed with his wife; he loved going on bike rides, fishing, hunting and spending time with family.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Pat Brown. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brown; their children and their families, and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Bainter.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Larry's life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Woodlawn Church - 2800 Woodlawn Avenue, NW, Canton, Ohio 44708. The doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and the family will receive condolences in the church, beginning at that time until the start of the service.
