Kenneth Watts Obituary

Kenneth D. Watts, 84, of Massillon, passed away peacefully, early Friday morning, May 1, 2020.  Born in Massillon, June 13, 1935, a son to the late Walter and Bertha (Stahleker) Albrecht, Ken was raised by his adoptive parents, the late Elmer and Helen (Albrecht) Watts.  A graduate of Timken Vocational High School, Ken was a farmer and worked at Oakdale Farms in Jackson Township for most of his adult life.  A member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church, he was very much a loving husband and a devoted dad, grandpa and great-grandpa.  He understood the meaning of stewardship, responsibility and accountability, the importance of finding growth in every season and that the earth had to be respected and protected.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking and gardening.  He liked to read and watch movies and television westerns.

Ken is also predeceased by his wife, Mary Catherine (Geib) Watts and his sister, Mary Jane (Albrecht) Staley.  He is survived by his children, Catherine (Stanley) Ernst, of Lansing, Michigan, Elizabeth (Kevin) Murphy, of Dalton and James (Linda) Watts, of Westerville.  Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ryan (Marella), Kayla and Jessica Murphy, Lauren and Evan Watts and Samantha Ernst; and great-grandchildren, Lucas and Claire Murphy.

Rev. Lynn Williamson, pastor of St. Jacob Lutheran Church, will join the family in a private funeral service on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.  Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon has been entrusted with arrangements.  The family has also suggested memorial contributions to advance the mission and ministry of St. Jacob Lutheran Church, 8697 Mudbrook St. NW, Massillon, Ohio 44646.  Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to our on-line guestbook at, www.atkinsonfeucht.com
