Judy May (McGuire) Walsh

Judy May Walsh, 81, of Massillon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the comfort of her home early Saturday morning, January 25, 2025. Born on March 22, 1943, in Massillon, Judy was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Watson) McGuire. A devoted wife, caring mother, cherished grandmother, and adored great-grandmother, Judy’s life was defined by her unwavering love and dedication to her family. As a homemaker, Judy worked tirelessly to create a warm, nurturing home filled with love, delicious meals, and heartfelt guidance. She had a unique ability to make each family member feel valued, fostering countless happy memories that will be treasured forever. Guided by the Golden Rule, common sense, and a deep well of motherly intuition, Judy lived a modest and selfless life, always placing the needs of others, especially her family, above her own. In her leisure time, she found joy in bowling, playing BINGO, sewing, and enjoying games like Parcheesi and cards. Her special connection with dogs earned her the affectionate title of "dog whisperer," a testament to her kind and gentle nature. Judy's love, wisdom, and selflessness touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James E. Walsh, Jr., a son, Roy Walsh, and eleven siblings; Judy is survived by her children, Tammy (Shawn) Anderson, Laurie Walsh-Serri, Jerry Walsh, and James E. (Melissa) Walsh III, all of the area.  Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Mrs. Karen (Donald) Fowler, of Massillon; and a large extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  Following cremation, a graveside service and inurnment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, February 3, 2025, at Brookfield Cemetery.  Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added here to Judy’s on-line guestbook
