Joseph Weber III Obituary

Joseph A. Weber III, 65, of Beach City, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, October 11, 2023.  Born in Orrville, Ohio, October 5, 1958, Joe graduated from Waynedale High School with the Class of 1977.  He served honorably in the US Navy for nearly twenty years, retiring with the rank of Machinist mate First Class (MM1) and earning several awards and decorations in the course of his service, including the Navy Commendation Medal.  Returning to civilian life he worked as a mechanic, most recently with Starrett Service, Inc., in Massillon.  He held memberships in several fraternal and veteran’s organizations and was currently serving as the post commander of Navarre VFW Post 5047.

A devoted husband, a loving and supportive dad and grandpa, and a loyal friend, Joe enjoyed being with people.  He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to fish but he especially loved riding his Harley.  Whether alone or with a group of friends, riding for an hour or several, cares and tensions slipped away as the miles sped by and there, on the open road, under the open sky, he found relaxation and peace.

Predeceased by his parents, Joseph A. Weber II and Donna J. (Fisher) Bodager; step-father, Larry Bodager, and brother, Tom Bodager; Joe is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Jean M. (Stolte) Weber, of the home; daughter, Olivia (Chris) Green, of Navarre, and son, Brendon Weber, of San Diego, California.  Also surviving are three granddaughters, Paige, Mikayla, and Daisy Green; his sister, Patty (Mike) Arnold, of Swanton, Vermont, and brother, Steve (Cindy) Weber, of Moultrie, Georgia.

Family and friends will gather with Rev. Aaron Minard in celebration of Joe’s life at 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, October 19, 2023, at Navarre VFW Post 5047 – 6680 Woodland Hills Road SW, Navarre, Ohio 44662.  You’re encouraged to wear comfortable, casual attire.  The family will receive condolences at the post, prior to the start of services, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.  Military honors will close the service and a private inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will follow at a later date.  The family has also requested no additional flowers, suggesting instead, a memorial contribution in Joe’s name to the donor’s charity of choice.

Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon has been entrusted with arrangements.  Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to Joe’s on-line guestbook.
