Jane S. Sypolt, 79, of Lousiville, our beloved wife, mom, mamaw, sister and aunt, passed away quietly but very unexpectedly, late Thursday afternoon, February 24, 2022. Born in Statesville, North Carolina, August 7, 1942, a daughter to the late Jay and Frances (Somers) Kennedy, Jane was attending Mitchell College in Statesville when she met the love of her life, Mitchell classmate, Chuck Sypolt. They married and began their family here in Perry Township. The family moved back to Statesville for several years before relocating again to Ohio, this time in Louisville. Jane worked alternately as a bus driver for Perry Local Schools, for the Statesville Board of Education, and finally, as a secretary for her husband’s auto dealership in Louisville.
A faithful and active member of Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon, Jane served her faith community in several ways, but usually just quietly, in the background, helping get things done. Her faith, her husband, and her family were always the center of her life, and she gave her all to everything she did. She enjoyed traveling and especially vacationing - eventually moving to Myrtle Beach; loved to read and loved to shop. Her grandchildren were and remain her greatest joy!
Predeceased by her parents; Jane is survived by her husband, Charles H. “Chuck” Sypolt, of the home; daughter, Kelly Parker, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and son, John (Melanie) Sypolt, of Louisville, Ohio. Also surviving are her grandson, John Sypolt II, and granddaughter, Sloane Sypolt; a sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Everitt, of Durham, North Carolina; a niece, Anne Everitt and nephew, Jim Everitt; as well as a host of treasured friends including her Beta Sigma Phi sisters.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather with Pastor Tricia Petraven in Celebration of Jane’s Life, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Central Presbyterian Church. The family will receive condolences Wednesday evening, March 2, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. They have also suggested memorial contributions to advance the mission and ministry of Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon. Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to our on-line guestbook at www.atkinsonfeucht.com.
