James Sibert Obituary

James E. Sibert, 84, of Massillon, passed away peacefully, early Wednesday morning, November 16, 2022.  Born in Canton, November 22, 1937, a son to the late Thoeburn and Virginia (Borden) Sibert, Jim graduated from Canton Lincoln High School with the Class of 1955.  The first half of his forty-year professional life was spent as a draftsman for the former Macomber Steel Co.  He spent another twenty years in several supervisory positions with Timken Steel, prior to his retirement.

A faithful and active member of Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon, Jim was a very devoted husband and a loving and supportive dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa.  With infinite patience, dedication and abiding love, he placed his wife and family at the center of his life.  Wherever he was, whatever he was doing, “Ruthie and the boys” were always his first thought.  When his sons were young, the family enjoyed camping together, and Jim enjoyed golfing.  He and Ruthie also loved to travel.  When her health declined and made things difficult, Jim was there as her caregiver and never left her side.

Predeceased by his parents; and his wife of sixty years, Ruth Ann (Fogle) Sibert; Jim is survived by his sons, Steven J. (Brenda) Sibert, of Bradenton, Florida, and Greg A. (Malynda) Sibert, of Perry Twp.; his grandchildren, Zachary (Melissa) Sibert, Tyler Sibert, Tracy Sutton and Christina Brighenti; great-grandsons, Joe, Donny and Mikey Sutton and Milo Sibert; and brother, Tom (Karen) Sibert.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, at Central Presbyterian Church.  Rev. Dr. Juliann Joy will officiate, and burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive condolences on Sunday afternoon, November 20, from 4-6:00 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  They have also suggested that memorial contributions may be made to advance the mission and ministry of Central Presbyterian Church.
