Helene M. Dominik, 91, of Navarre, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, January 1, 2024. Born in Munich, Germany, May 9, 1932, Helene made Navarre her home throughout her adulthood. She was a homemaker who placed her husband and family at the center of her life. A faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Navarre, Helene was a gifted seamstress. She loved to sew and knit. She produced original costumes for several plays and musicals at Fairless High School for years. Helene was also very active in Scouting for years.
Predeceased by her parents, Josef Mayser and Ludwig and Helene Rulle; her husband, Guenther Dominik; son, Werner Dominik; sister, Renate Rulle; son-in-law, Gerald Sinkovich; and brothers-in-law, Werner Sigl and Fritz Busler; Helene is survived by her daughter, Christina Sinkovich, of Canton, sons, Erich Dominik (Ashley Kuhns), and Ernest (Julie) Dominik, all of Massillon. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mrs. Christine Sigl and Mrs. Dorothea Busler.
The family will mark Helene’s passing with a Celebration of her life at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at St. Paul UCC in Navarre. They will receive condolences one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the church. Pastor Dennis Landaw will officiate, and burial will follow at Union Lawn Cemetery. The family has also suggested memorial contributions in Helene’s name, to advance the mission and ministry of St. Paul UCC.
