George John Vellios, age 63, of Massillon, while surrounded by close family,
passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2021, at Aultman Hospital. Born in Massillon, July 6, 1958, to the late John George and Vassiliki Vellios. He was a graduate of Washington High School and earned a degree in business from Ohio University. From first grade to his senior graduation, he recorded just one absence and would carry this same wholeheartedness and persistence forward throughout his life.
Most important to George was his dedication and love for his wife, Despina “Peggy,” and sons, Yianni and Niko. His best friend and constant confidant was his twin brother, James. George lived a great wonderful life full of love and laughter. He had the kindest soul; so hardworking and selfless. He adored his sons; never missing a game, spelling bee or play. He always believed in helping those less fortunate and reminded us to be thankful for all that we had.
He was the rock of John George’s Convenience Store and Drive-Thru. Proudly working there daily with his wife and sons, twin brother James, brother Bill, nieces - Christina, Elizabeth and Sofia, nephews - John and David. We will miss George tremendously but will cherish fond memories and his wonderful spirit that lives on in each of us.
George was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tanas.
