Frances Jennett "Fran" (Skiles) Bennett

Frances Jennett Bennett, 62, of Canton, passed away quietly Sunday morning, October 22, 2023.  Born January 26, 1961, on the former Laon-Couvron (Joint) Air Base at Laon-Aisne France, a daughter to the late Hugh E. and Alma "Dorothy" (Chandler) Skiles, the family relocated to Massillon where Fran graduated from Perry High School with the Class of 1979.  She was a 20-year employee of the US Postal Service, originally working as a letter carrier, then as a sorter in the Massillon Post Office.  A Christian woman, a devoted wife and a loving and supportive mom and grandma, Fran loved preparing and hosting family dinners for the holidays and other special occasions.  She collected vintage dolls and crystal figurines and really enjoyed shopping trips to Goodwill Stores and other resale shops, with the thought of adding to her collections; hopeful of finding a great deal on a hidden gem that others overlooked.  She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing computer games.

Predeceased by her parents; an infant son, Jason Bennett; sisters, Debbie and Nancy, and brother, Randy; Fran is survived by her husband, Bruce E. “Ed” Bennett, of the home; their daughter, Angela (Travis) Bennett-Woodall, of Meridian, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jessamyn and Corbin Woodall; and her sisters, Sandy Anderson and Kathy Murphy, and brother, William Skiles, all of the area, together with several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.  The family will mark Fran’s home going with a gathering in celebration of her life at a date soon to be announced.  Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon has been entrusted with arrangements.  Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to her on-line guestbook.
