Doyle H. Bentzel, 96, of Navarre, passed away peacefully, early Thursday morning, December 8, 2022. Born on the family farm near Beach City on July 29, 1926, he was the youngest of four sons born to the late Harold and Evelyn (Laughlin) Bentzel. Doyle graduated from the former Navarre High School with the Class of 1944 and served honorably in the US Army during the final years of World War II, earning the rank of Sergeant. A devoted husband and a loving and supportive dad, he earned his living as a bricklayer with Union Local 6, in Canton, until his retirement. His membership in The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers has remained current and active for the last 67 years. Doyle was an avid outdoorsman. He raised Coonhounds and Beagles for several years and loved being out with his dogs. He found great enjoyment while out hunting or fishing with his brothers or with friends; or running through the woods with the dogs - and the stories that came afterwards, were always entertaining.
Predeceased by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Janice M. (Slusser) Bentzel, who passed away in 2011; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald, Ronald (and Louise), and George (and Patricia) Bentzel; Doyle is survived by his daughter, Anne Bentzel, of Navarre; sister-in-law, Irene Bentzel, of Phoenix, Arizona; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews..
