David Allen Austin

David A. Austin, 66, of Navarre, passed away peacefully, with his wife at his side, and in the comfort of his home, early Friday morning, September 27, 2024.  Born January 7, 1958, in Morgantown, West Virginia, a son to the late Harry D. and Rosemary (Pyles) Austin, David completed his GED while serving honorably in the US Army. 

David was a Christian and he loved his wife and family.  Despite several challenges to his health and mobility, he gave his best for them in all he did.  David loved the outdoors and from an early age enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Christy, a son, Joey; a granddaughter, Georgia Rose Austin; and his sisters, Karla J. Austin, and Catherine B. Austin Tritch; David is survived by his wife, Sherry L. (Moen) Austin; children, Christopher D. Austin, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Nicole M. Austin, of Navarre, and Josh Hensel, of Canton; grandchildren, Cooper D. Austin and William Yarnell, Jr.; sisters, Cynthia (Thomas) Simers, of Harleyville, South Carolina, and Carol (David) Newcomer, of Massillon.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

No formal services are scheduled.  The family will receive condolences and share memories at an open house visitation Thursday afternoon, October 3, 2024, from 4-5:00 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation and a private inurnment will follow.
