Blaine L. Nofsinger, 91, of Navarre, passed away quietly Sunday evening, January 14, 2018. Born September 8, 1926, in Massillon, a son to the late Jacob and Lottie (Maurer) Nofsinger, Blaine graduated from the former Navarre High School and invested 42 years of faithful service as a machinist with the Norfolk Southern Railway Company and its predecessors before retiring in 1989. The rest of his time and energy was devoted to working the family farm with his brother, Wayne. A man of quiet faith, he regularly attended Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church. He liked to garden, enjoyed sports and loved to travel.
Predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Dale and Benjamin Nofsinger; Blaine is survived by his twin brother, Wayne and sister, Ruth Nofsinger Mohr, both of Navarre; several nieces and nephews and his very dear friend, Rita Caveslio.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre. Pastor Paul Gerycz will officiate and burial will follow in Union Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive condolences one hour prior to the service, from 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home.
