Betty R. Drage, 90, of Navarre, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 24, 2022, in the comfort of her home with her husband at her side. She was born November 3, 1932, in Mt. Eaton, Ohio, to the late Ralph J. and Clara M. (Hoffman) Hauenstein, Sr. Betty graduated from the former Navarre High School with the Class of 1950. For eight years, she worked in the payroll office of the former Republic Steel Corp. in Massillon. On February 14, 1954, she married her best friend and life partner, Clarence E. Drage. From that day forward, Betty placed her husband and family at the center of her life. A devoted wife and a loving and supportive mom and grandma, she created a home filled with love and lots of happy memories. A faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Navarre, Betty taught Sunday school and assisted with several youth group activities. She also served as an assistant 4-H advisor. In her leisure time, Betty enjoyed square dancing and socializing with her girlfriends in the RSC Ladies Club.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kimberly Kay Drage and her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Ruth Hauenstein, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Clarence, of 68 years; her daughters, Tondra (Rick) Maston of Tuscarawas Township, and Tamara (Darrell) Kamph of Navarre; her grandchildren, Dustyn (Kasee) Maston, Marshay Maston, and Stephen Kamph; and her great-granddaughter, Harper Maston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre. Rev. Dennis Landaw will officiate, and burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive condolences on Tuesday evening, November 29, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul UCC, 337 North Main Street, Navarre, OH 44662.
