Angela Virginia "Angie" Sutter

Angela V. “Angie” Sutter was taken from us on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, just three days shy of her 101st birthday.  She was born in Biel, Switzerland, in 1921, to Rudolf and Angela Sutter.  Angie immigrated to the United States in 1929 along with her parents and brother. Family was everything to her.  She adored her younger brother Rudy who predeceased her.

The second most important part of her life was the Massillon Tigers. She attended all the games until it became too great a physical challenge to be there in person.  But even at 100 years old she would have her nails painted orange and black during football season.

Angie worked at the Griscom Russell factory during World War II, and the rest of her career she worked along side her parents in their family business, Sutter’s Jewelry store in downtown Massillon.  She was involved for 50 years in the White Shrine, Eastern Star and the Order of the Amarantha.

She leaves behind a nephew Rudy, his wife, Simone, and a niece, Cindy Sutter. Another niece, Sandi, predeceased her.  Angie also left behind two great nieces, 6 great-great nieces and nephews, and a great-great-great niece and nephew.  Not to leave out her two best friends, Greg and Vickie Brown.  She would not have had the quality of life that she did without them.

Funeral services will be conducted at the noon hour on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  Rev. Mark Kreemer will officiate, and burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.  The family will renew acquaintances and receive condolences one hour prior to the services, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
