Alice Elaine (Wise) Miller

Alice E. Miller, 83, of Massillon, passed away quietly, Tuesday afternoon, October 10, 2023.  Born in Belaire, Ohio, January 27, 1940, a daughter to the late Kenneth and Anna Mae (Harris) Wise, Alice had attended Massillon Washington High School and thereafter, remained an area resident.  A beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma, Alice was completely devoted to her family.  She created and kept a safe and welcoming home where her heart and her front door were always open.  Life was not always fair, and finances were often strained, still she always found the time and the energy to support her children and grandchildren, often going without so they could have that special something that would bring them joy.  And her joy was each of them!  In her leisure time, Alice loved playing BINGO! She looked forward to an afternoon or an evening playing cards or getting away to one of the casinos to try her luck at the slot machines.

Alice will be met in heaven by her parents; her husband, Maywood Miller; daughter, Debra Wise Fox, son Tim Miller; grandsons, James, Will, Timmy and Bradie; son-in-law Jimmy Baus; her great-grandson, Jacob; and her sister, Edna Wise.  Left to mourn her passing are her children, Dale (Lori) Link, of Canton, Dewey (Donna) Miller, of Massillon, Karen Miller Harig, of Massillon, Kim (Mickey) Ditch, of Canal Fulton, Tammy (Harold) Miller Morgan, of Canton, and Vicki (Todd) Harig, of Harlem, Georgia; twin granddaughters, Jennifer (Roy) Miller Stevens – who shared their home with Alice, and Jessica Miller, all of Massillon.  This was a turnabout of kindness as Jen and Jes, along with their mother, had shared a home with Alice for most of their early years.  Also surviving is an incredible extended family that includes 23 additional grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth Wise, of Lafayette, Indiana, and her neighbors from Friendship Village in Massillon.

The family will receive condolences Saturday evening, October 14, 2023, from 5-6:00 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeffrey W.
