Walker Smith

Walker Smith, age 80, finished his earthly journey Tuesday January 30, 2018 at Amherst Meadows. He had just been transferred from the Inn at Belden Village where he had resided for two years. Walker taught for thirty three years at Akron North High School. A longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church, he was preceded in death by his parents, Lamoine Ellis and Sarah Smith, his wife Karen, his son Bradley, and a brother. Walker leaves behind his daughter, Jody Williams of Massillon; sister, Nancy Murphy of Scottsdale, AZ; brother Charles Smith of Belpre, OH; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday February 3 from 1-3 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church with Pastor Larry Lalama officiating. Private burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to Central Presbyterian Church or the Diabetes Association.
