Ruth Evelyn Crone, a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully late last Sunday morning, May 6, 2018, at the age of 92. Born in Massillon, September 21, 1925, a daughter to the late Charles A. and Lucille M. (Englehardt) Schultz, Ruth graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1943. She was a home maker who focused on her marriage and raising her three children in Jackson Township. She later found great joy in her four grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. In her leisure time she loved simple things like feeding the birds and enjoying beautiful flowers. Ruth was a life-long member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church where all three of her children were confirmed. She enjoyed Adult Sunday School Class and volunteering in the church office. Many of her friends were church members with whom she participated in a bowling league and took numerous trips.
Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Carl T. Crone and her brother, Charles F. Schultz; Ruth is survived by her children Charles Crone, of Rye, Colorado, Cynthia (Sam) Gibson, of Casa Grande, Arizona and Peggy (Evan) Brown of Penfield, New York; granddaughters Bridgette Brownsword and Lynette Brownsword; grandsons Zachary Brown and Thomas Brown and great-granddaughter Lillie Brownsword. Also surviving are her sisters Mary Jayne Lewis and Phyllis Darrah and former son-in-law, Steven Brownsword.
