Roland Albrecht Obituary

Roland Gene “Ron” Albrecht, 80, of Massillon, passed away quietly, with his wife and family gathered at his side, on Friday evening, December 22, 2017.  Born in Massillon, February 9, 1937, a son to the late Carl and Christina (Huffman) Albrecht, Ron attended Washington High School and served honorably in the US Army.  Originally apprenticed as a meat cutter, Ron earned his living as a truck driver with the former Superior Meats now FreshMark Corp.  He had invested 33 years of safe and faithful service before retiring in 1993.  A loving husband and a devoted father, he liked to fill his leisure time tending his garden.  He enjoyed following the OSU Buckeyes and was a fan of all the Cleveland sports teams.
Predeceased by his parents; an infant son, Jason Albrecht; sisters, Doris Albrecht Poorman and Margery Albrecht Hardesty and brothers, Junior and Jack Albrecht; Ron is survived by his dear wife of 60 years, Agatha Marie (Hawk) Albrecht and their sons, Rick, of Dalton and Chad (Marie), of Cortland, Ohio.  Also surviving are four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; Ron’s sister, Mrs. Rose Albrecht McClead, of Beach City and his four-legged best friend, Bambi.
A private graveside service was conducted earlier this week.  The family extends their most sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Aultman Compassionate Care Center for their friendship and the dedicated care that Ron received.  Memorial contributions are suggested to either Aultman Compassionate Care or the Massillon Salvation Army.
