Richard T. Buzard, 94, of Massillon, following a long and vigorous life, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, October 13, 2017, with his family at his side. Born March 21, 1923, in Brookville, Pennsylvania, a son to the late Wayne and Florence (Truman) Buzard, Dick was a loving husband and a devoted dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. Following his high school graduation, he answered his nation’s call during World War II and served honorably in the USMC. He was also a skilled craftsman who earned his living and later retired as a bricklayer. In his leisure time he enjoyed sports, especially baseball and loved camping with his family at their Pennsylvania cabin, always finding peace and pleasure in pursuing the art of fly fishing.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean (Gilmore) Buzard and his sister, Jane Buzard Crawford; Dick is survived by his daughter, Amy Jean (Roger) Thorne, sons, Richard W. (Shawn) and Brady N. (Cheryl) Buzard, all of Massillon; and a host of treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No local services are planned. At the convenience of the family, Dick and Jean will be inurned together in Brookville, Pennsyvania. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.
