Relda Mae “Skip” Roth, 90, of Massillon, passed away peacefully at her home early Friday evening, September 28, 2018. Born in Massillon, October 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Chester A. “Ted” and Margaret E. (Humphrey) Roth, Skip graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1945 and remained a loyal and devoted Tiger football fan her entire life. She earned an associate degree from Wittenburg University and her teaching degree from the University of Akron, retiring in 1989 after having taught for 32 years in Massillon City Schools. A life-member of Faith Lutheran Church and a very active member of both the Massillon Woman’s Club,and the Washington High School Alumni Association, she was also a member of.the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 108
Skip is predeceased by her parents and a dear cousin, Jack Waisner. She is survived by several cousins; her loving and devoted caregivers, Theresa Benson and Becky Graham and her treasured church friend, Gene Feller, who visited often and brought her Holy Communion. A special note of thanks is given to the skilled caregivers of Crossroads Hospice.
A chapel service celebrating the life of Relda Mae Roth will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018, in the mausoleum chapel at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, 3655 Wales Avenue, NW, Massillon, Ohio 44646. Rev. Emily Seitz will officiate and burial will follow. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the Humane Society of Stark County, PO Box 7077, Canton, Ohio 44705. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home of Massillon.
