Pauline Virginia Barkes Fair, of Dalton, formerly of Navarre, went home to Jesus on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Pauline was born in Oakland City, Indiana to Oliver and Lillian Barkes on September 12, 1920. The oldest of eight children, she was raised in New Martinsville, West Virginia. Her husband, Arthur Fair, with whom she shared more than 62 years of marriage, died in 2008. Their married life was spent in Navarre, Ohio where they raised their family; a son, Keith (Linda), who resides in Dalton and a beloved daughter, Kay L. Fair Medure, who also preceded her mother in death. Pauline loved life and was an avid reader, camper, bowler and card player. She is survived by her son, Keith; son-in-law, Anthony Medure, of Massillon; grandchildren, Stephanie Bianchi, Jennifer Stewart and Kristen Moon; seven great-grandchildren and her youngest brother, Warren Barkes.
Cremation and inurnment in East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre have taken place. A memorial service will be held at her church, Stanwood Community Church, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019. The family has requested no additional flowers however, memorial contributions are suggested to Stanwood Community Church Memorial Fund, 14715 Stanwood St. SW, Navarre, Ohio 44662, to Gideon’s International, PO Box 1494, Massillon, Ohio 44648 or the Dalton Branch of Wayne County Public Library, 127 North Church St., Dalton, Ohio 44618. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre.
