Mary Alice Brown, age 90 of Lakeside/Marblehead, formally of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2019 at Arden Courts Memory Care in Westlake, Ohio. Mary, the daughter of Thressa (Mauger) Pritchard, was born on April 10, 1929 in Massillon, and was the youngest of four siblings. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage
She is survived by her children: Kim (Debra) Brown of Danville, VA; Jeff (DiAnne) Brown of Sacramento, CA; Scott (Staci) Brown of East Sparta and Holly (Brian) Fowler of Bay Village; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer, Steve, Skyler, Sierra, Megan and Clara Brown, Jacob Fowler and Spencer and Ryan O’Rourke.
Mary loved entertaining her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and a great hostess – and used those skills running the concession stand with her friends during her son’s motorcycle races! She enjoyed painting, sewing, gardening, and being outdoors. Mary was always up for an adventure, especially, traveling, camping, boating, and watching her children and grandchildren ride & race motorcycles. She got a thrill out of water skiing, and was a member of the local water ski clubs. When Mary and Earl retired, they moved to Lakeside Marblehead, where they took up fishing aboard the “Queen Mary B.” Mary caught multiple Fish Ohio awards. Mary was a member if the Massillon Woman’s Club, a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, worked at Dalton Knits Fabrics, and was a member of Massillon Jaycees. Mary loved to have fun - and made sure everyone was having fun too – she loved life!
Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home will provide a graveside service 10:30 am, Saturday , October 5th with Rev. Mark Kreemer of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Massillon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity to cure Alzheimer’s.
