Lorrin D. Boughman, 79, of Navarre, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on Sunday afternoon, November 12, 2017, after battling pulmonary fibrosis for much of the last year. Born in Massillon, November 15, 1937, a son to the late Orlo and Margaret (Harrold) Boughman, Lorrin graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1954. An honorably discharged veteran of the US Army, he worked for several area firms including Stark Equipment Co. and Massillon Washed Gravel before entering the tool and die trade. Lorrin and his brother, Arlan, founded Navarre Tool & Die in February, 1974, and operated the company successfully until they both retired more than forty years later. A man of quiet faith, Lorrin placed his wife and family at the center of his life. He lived simply and enjoyed keeping busy. An excellent mechanic, he was always handy and willing to help where he could. In his leisure time, a few hours on his Harley Road King always improved his disposition. His memberships included the Navarre VFW Post 5047 and H.O.G. - the Harley Owners Group.
Predeceased by his parents; Lorrin is survived by his wife, Alice L. (Matter) Boughman – they were married on May 24, 1958; and their sons, Bruce (Tan) Boughman, of Crestview, Florida and Russell (Penny) Boughman, of Massillon. There are also 4 grandchildren; a great-grandson; brother, Arlan G. (Carol Jean) Boughman, of Navarre and numerous other dear relatives and friends.
No services are scheduled presently but may be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre. The family has suggested memorial contributions made in care of the Navarre Salvation Army, the Humane Society of Stark County or the donor’s charity of choice.
