John Mark Cross

John M. Cross, 85, of Massillon, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, January 9, 2018.  Born March 9, 1932, in North Canton, a son to the late James G. and C. Elizabeth (Workman) Cross, John graduated from North Canton Hoover High School with the Class of 1950.  An honorably discharged veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean Conflict, John earned his living in the building trades as a carpenter in Local Union 285.  He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in North Canton and enjoyed social memberships that included Massillon American Legion Post 221 and Massillon VFW Post 3124.  He was especially fond of weekly visits to Amish country and in his leisure time he loved to golf and enjoyed all sports.
Predeceased by his parents; John is survived by his dear wife and best friend of more than 43 years, Sandra M. (Dutton) Cross; his brother, James W. (Darlene) Cross, of North Canton and a host of treasured friends.
No formal services will be held however, a private inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.
