Janet E. Yarnell, 72, of Canton, completed her earthly journey and passed peacefully into eternity Tuesday evening, April 10, 2018. Born in Massillon, June 6, 1945, a daughter to the late Walter and Dorothy (Schneider) Theis, Janet graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1963. Her professional career included management positions with several area MacDonald’s Restaurants, most recently, the North Canton location on North Main near Applegrove Street. A wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma, Janet placed her family at the center of her life. She loved unconditionally and generously and showed her family true strength and courage as she battled against the effects of her illness over the past nine months. Essentially a private person who preferred to live simply, Janet also enjoyed traveling with her friend, Floyd, to his Kentucky mountain retreat to rest, relax and tour the local festivals. She will be sincerely missed by those who knew and loved her.
Predeceased by her parents; Janet is survived by her children, Kevin T. (Sally) Yarnell, of North Canton, Kimberly E. (James) Weisel, of Canton, Ryan R. (Sherry) Yarnell, of Canton and Darin W. (Alicia) Yarnell, of Louisville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; her sisters, Judy Kasunick, Sandy Hollis and Vicki Theis, all of the area; and her very dear friend, Floyd Horton, of Canton.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday afternoon, April 15, 2018, from 3-4:00 p.m. to exchange condolences and share their stories at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. A brief service will close the hour followed by a private burial on Monday at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
