Glenn Arner, Jr. Obituary

Glenn Edward Arner Jr. was a passionate man; who loved Christ, his family, and was always up to tell a great story or two.  Glenn went to his resting place at his home in Tuscarawas Township on Thursday, March 29, 2018 after a valiant fight with cancer.  Glenn was born on February 11, 1958 in Massillon, Ohio to Glenn and Audrey Arner, the oldest of four children.  He was a father, son, brother, friend, youth leader, coach and athlete throughout his life.  He married his high school sweetheart, Debra, on June 27, 1980 and had three wonderful children whom he adored.  Glenn could not have been prouder than when he got to see all of his children grow and follow in his footsteps to become amazing athletes.  He loved everything about sports.   He loved watching them as much as playing them himself.  He began his coaching career right out of high school, but really became more involved by coaching his own children and then others.  His coaching career spanned over 20 years in places like Massillon, Tuslaw, and Kingsway with success at each.  Glenn graduated from Malone University in 1985 and worked passionately as a purchasing agent at Zeigler Bolt and Nut for over 30 years.  Glenn was a long time member of Stanwood Community Church, serving as the youth director for over 13 years.  During his time as a youth leader, he was passionate about the many mission trips he orchestrated that included not only the youth from Stanwood, but other area youth.  Glenn touched many lives with his love for Christ and service and will be missed by many.  Out of all Glenn’s accomplishments in life, his family was the most important thing to him and enjoyed spending time hanging out with his family and playing with the grandkids who he loved more than life.
Glenn leaves behind his wife Debra Arner, his mother Audrey Arner, his son Jonathan Arner, his daughter Jessica (Patrick) Truesdell, and daughter Julianna (Nick) Grubb; seven grandchildren, Ben, Autumn and Chase Truesdell, Addison Arner, and Koehn, Kamrin, and Annelyn Grubb; his brothers Dennis (Maureena) Arner, Ric (Lynette) Arner, and sister Darlene (Mike) Kieffer and other brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews and their families.  He was preceded in death by his father Glenn Arner Sr.
Glenn’s memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Stanwood Community Church with Pastor Matt Ellington officiating.  Calling hours will be held April 7, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. prior to service.  The service and a light lunch will follow for friends and family at the family center. Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
