Carrie L. Jones, 93, of Massillon, passed away peacefully with her family gathered to her side, on Tuesday afternoon, June 12, 2018. Born December 15, 1924, in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, a daughter to the late Henry and Pearl (Yoho) Lowry, Carrie had been an area resident for most of her adult life. She was a home maker who placed her husband and family at the center of her life and gave her all in everything she did. A faithful member of the Massillon Church of Christ where she belonged to the Jolly Seniors, Carrie was also a very active volunteer at the former Massillon City/Community/Affinity Hospital – offering hundreds of hours over more than 30 years of service. She enjoyed bowling and was always willing to indulge her competitive side with a good game of cards.
Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Charles E. Jones; sister, Faye Lowry Shield and brother, Charles W. Lowry; Carrie is survived by her son, C. Gregory (Dana) Jones, of Massillon; granddaughters, Sarah (Mike) Nosky, of Jackson Twp. and Katie (Ben) Marko, of Uniontown; and her great-grandchildren, Zack, Josh, Mallory and Shawn.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1:00 at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Evangelists Glenn Hawkins and Rick Kelley will officiate and burial will follow at Newman’s Creek Cemetery in Lawrence Twp. The family will receive condolences this evening, Thursday, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday afternoon prior to the service, from 12:30-1:00 p.m. They have also suggested memorial contributions made to advance the mission and ministry of the Massillon Church of Christ.
