Carl Provost Obituary

Carl D. Provost, 79, of Navarre, passed away peacefully Friday evening, January 4, 2019. Born June 25, 1939, at the family home in Navarre, a son to the late Stanley J. and Florence (Snyder) Provost, Jr., Carl graduated from the former Navarre High School with the Class of 1957. He had worked for Oster Sand & Gravel, Inc. and retired from Massillon Materials, Inc. He was also a retired farmer. No matter where he worked or what he did, his heart remained always with his family and always on the farm. A hard and willing worker, he was also a devoted husband, a loving dad and a mischievous grandpa and papa who placed his family at the center of his life. He made time when there was no time and never missed an opportunity to be there to support, to encourage and enjoy the efforts and accomplishments of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents and his wife of fifty years, Sally (Whyte) Provost; Carl is survived by his children, Jeffery (Kelly) Provost, of Navarre, Diane (Eric) Shamp, of Uniontown and Thomas Provost, also of Navarre; his grandchildren, Megan (Todd) Kenney, of Canton and Jordan (Alisha) Provost, of Navarre; great-grandchildren, Colt, Claire and Cash and his brothers, Sanley J. (Karen) Provost III and Mark (Mary) Provost, all of the area.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre. Rev. Paul Gerycz of Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will follow in East Union Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive condolences on Tuesday evening, January 8, from 5-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning prior to the service, from 10-11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar for the kindness and care that Carl received while in residence there. They have also suggested memorial contributions in their dad's name be made to advance the mission and ministry of Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church.
