Carl Edward Jones II, 66, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday morning, February 27, 2018. Born in Massillon, April 3, 1951, a son to the late Carl E. and Ann R. (Ries) Jones, Carl graduated from Perry High School with the Class of 1969, and earned his living in the construction trades working independently as a heavy equipment operator.
Irreverent, sometimes tacky and seldom refined, Carl was a beautiful human being. He adored his wife and family, was a selfless and loyal friend, was kind to animals and held fast to a work ethic that, along with his mustache, became his trademark. His loss will be most deeply felt by those he loved and who loved him in return.
Predeceased by his parents; Carl is survived by his wife, Diana L. (Buckridge) Jones, of the home; daughters, Kimberly (David) Sippola, of Appleton, Wisconsin, Katie M. (David) Price and Kristin L. Jones, all of Navarre, and sons, Kyle E. Jones, also of Appleton and Todd E. Jones, also of the home; grandchildren, Abigail and Ashlie Sippola, Jordan, Jagger, Jaileigh and Jerzie Price, Tyler Costain and Lily Walrath; his sister, Carol (Walter) Gayer, of Louisville, Ohio; niece, Heidi (Matt) Lehnhart and nephew, Shawn (Melanie) Gayer; several treasured friends and three beloved dogs, Jack, Jo and Molly.
Family and friends will join with Fr. Nicholas Mancini to celebrate a funeral Mass Friday morning, March 2, 2018, at 11:00 at Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Louisville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The family has suggested memorial contributions made in care of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
