Betty Eileen (Young) Peters

Betty E. Peters, 80, of Massillon, passed away quietly, with her family at her side on Monday evening, January 15, 2018.  Born in Zanesville, Ohio, July 9, 1937, a daughter to the late William and Gertrude (Patterson) Young, Betty graduated from Massillon Washington High School with the Class of 1955.  In addition to being a full-time mom, she worked as the book keeper for her husband’s several property management initiatives.  A woman of strong faith and perseverance, Betty placed her family at the center of her life.  She was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother.  
Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Nicholas G. Peters; son, Steven G. Peters and grandson, Nicholas G. Peters II; Betty is survived by her son, George L. (Angela) Peters, of Massillon and her daughter, Nikki Peters- (Jorge) Gomes, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; her grandchildren, Jordan J. Peters, of Panama City Beach, Florida and Isabelle M. Peters, also of Massillon; her brother, William Pope; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Massillon.  Rev. Fr. Constantine G. Shiepis and Rev. Fr. Spyridon Kehayes will officiate and burial will follow in Massillon Cemetery.  The family will receive condolences on Sunday evening, January 21, from5-7:00 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  A Trisagon Service will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m.
