In loving memory of Betty Cliff -
Betty Cliff, beloved matriarch and educator, passed away on January 7. Born and raised in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, Betty's passion for literature touched the lives of her students and loved ones alike. She embraced the outcasts, had a keen eye for design, and made a mean mint julep.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Thomas Cliff Sr., her three sons: Thomas M. Cliff Jr. (Stephanie), Timothy W. Cliff (Natalia), and Todd M. Cliff (Karen); and seven grandchildren: Caitlin, Casey (Elton), Carleigh, Elena (Ben, Lily), Jessica, Emma, and Allie.
In addition to her relatives, Betty’s memory lives on through her chosen family. These individuals, not connected by blood but by the deep bonds of love and friendship, were an integral part of Betty's life: The McGrew Family, The Kiste Family, Diane Hickey, Donna Boggs, and her dear friends including Virginia Birks, Mary Jane Ferkol, and Ted Harvey.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to any of these worthy organizations: Alzheimer Association, East Ohio Chapter (www.alz.org/eastohio), Ohio Hospice LifeCare (www.ohioshospice.org/lifecare) , The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (cancer.osu.edu/locations/the-james-cancer-hospital-and-solove-research-institute), or Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio (www.plannedparenthood.org/planned-parenthood-greater-ohio) in Betty's honor.
May she rest in eternal peace.
Private services for Betty have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added here to her on-line guestbook.
