Pauline G. Kapper, 99, of Massillon, with her family gathered at her side, entered peacefully into the presence of her Savior early Saturday morning, November 11, 2017.  Born in Mt. Jewett, Pennsylvania, January 25, 1918, a daughter to the late Herman W. and Esther J. (Hanson) Carlson, Pauline was the oldest of their five children and graduated from Hazel Hurst High School in McKean County, Pennsylvania.  Pauline and her husband lived in the Dalton and Massillon area and for several years had owned and operated Spring Lake Farm on County Line Road in Dalton.  In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting and was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Indians.  A member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, she had also been an active volunteer at Massillon Community Hospital/Affinity Medical Center.  
A beloved wife and mother, a gifted homemaker and a treasured grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma, Pauline is predeceased by her parents; her husband of 58 years, LaVerne C. Kapper; daughter, Esther P. Schar; son-in-law, David Reinoehl; three brothers and a sister.  She is survived by her children, LaVerna Reinoehl, of Columbus, Robert C. Kapper, of Kidron, William J. (Judy) Kapper, of Hartville, Donald P. (Dee) Kapper, of Beach City and Joyce E. Egan, of Massillon.  Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and her son-in-law, Kenneth Schar, of Sterling.
Funeral services will be conducted at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15.  The family will receive guests Tuesday evening, November 14, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon and one hour prior to services Wednesday morning, from 9-10:00 a.m. in the church.  Pastor Katie Jacobs will officiate and burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.  The family has suggested memorial contributions to advance the mission and ministries of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Mercy Hospice.
