Music by The Piano Brothers

Carl K. Fogle, 85, of Navarre, his earthly journey now completed, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 25, 2017.  Born April 8, 1932, in Garrett, Pennsylvania, a son to the late Edward and Mabel (Shultz) Fogle, Carl graduated from Berlin Brothersvalley High School where, in addition to being a versatile athlete, he also sang in the choir and played violin in the school orchestra.  He completed his undergraduate studies in education at Slippery Rock University where he played football and soccer.  He later completed his master’s degree at the University of Akron.  Carl served in the US Army as the White House telegrapher during the second term of President Eisenhower before relocating with his young family to the Village of Navarre.  His career as an educator, coach, assistant principal and principal in the Navarre/Fairless Local Schools began in 1957 and encompassed 32 years of dedication, sacrifice and indescribable joy before his retirement in 1989.  An avid sports fan his entire life, he looked forward to every Steelers and Penn State football game and every season of every activity with the rest of the Fairless Nation.
Predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Renee, who passed away last fall; two sisters, a brother; and his son-in-law, Lewis Barlow; Carl is survived by his dear wife, Betty M. (Bush) Fogle, and their children, Roxanne Barlow, of Winchester, Virginia, Rick (Barbara) Fogle, of Canal Fulton and Robbin Fogle, of Massillon; grandchildren, David (Amy) Fogle, of Bolivar and Lindsay Fogle, of Broadview Heights; and a beloved great-granddaughter, Piper Fogle.
A Memorial Celebration of Carl’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, at Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church.  Pastor Paul Gerycz will officiate.  The family will receive guests in the church Sunday afternoon prior to the service, from 2-4:00 p.m.

To the Fogle family,

Mr. Fogle (as I will always remember him) was a consummate educator and believed that all students could and would succeed. His smile and laughter in the halls of FHS will long be remembered by those of us whose path he crossed. God rest your generous and kind soul, Mr. Fogle. From a grateful Fairless student! I had Mr. Fogle at Fairless High School during the late 60's. I remember him fondly and send my condolences to the family from Virginia. I spent 37 years as an educator also before I retired. God speed, Mr. Fogle.
