Alice J. Hodgson, 89, formerly of Navarre, more recently of Magnolia, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, May 2, 2017.  Born July 3, 1927, in Navarre, a daughter to the late Grafton and Mary Ellen (Lutz) Hay, Alice graduated from the former Navarre High School.  She worked for several years in the Brewster offices of the former Nickel Plate Railroad.  After her son was grown she returned to work as a cashier for the Circle K stores in Navarre and Strasburg.  Alice and her late husband, Ray, were members of the Navarre-Bethlehem Historical Society.  She had been a member of Fohl Memorial UMC in Navarre and also held membership in the VFW Post 5047 Ladies Auxiliary.  
Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Raymond E. Hodgson; a sister, Ellen Hay Kaylor and brother, Richard Hay; Alice is survived by her son, Bruce E. Hodgson, of Magnolia, with whom she had resided; her sister, Mrs. Beverly Hershberger, of Walnut Creek and several nieces, nephews and treasured friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at the graveside at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in Union Lawn Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre.  To sign our on-line guestbook, please visit,
